Meet the Team

Brooke Jacobson, LMHC

Founder/Lead Psychotherapist

Brooke started Glow Psychotherapy because she believes that the right therapist can change everything — and that everyone deserves access to care that actually fits who they are. She specializes in working with women and femme-identifying folks navigating eating disorders, body image struggles, anxiety, OCD, and depression, and brings a HAES-aligned, identity-affirming lens to every client she works with. Her approach is evidence-based and deeply human — rooted in CBT, ACT, and DBT, but always tailored to the real, whole person sitting across from her.

Brooke earned her M.A./EdM. in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has spent the past seven years helping clients get unstuck from patterns that no longer serve them. When she's not in session, you'll find her doing aerial arts, running along the West Side Highway, getting humbled by a yoga class, or exploring everything New York has to offer — usually with her dog close behind.

Sydney Forslund, MHC-I

Mental Health Counseling Fieldwork Associate

Sydney Forslund is a Mental Health Counseling Intern currently pursuing her Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University. She feels honored to support individuals as they navigate life's challenges, deepen self-understanding, and work towards meaningful growth.

Through her graduate training, Sydney has developed a strong foundation in counseling theory, ethics, and clinical practice — including coursework in multicultural counseling, assessment, psychopathology, and counseling theories. She has experience applying evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, with an emphasis on culturally responsive care.

Sydney approaches therapy with curiosity, warmth, and deep respect for each person's lived experience. She believes that a safe, collaborative space is essential for clients to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment.

Outside of the therapy room, Sydney enjoys traveling, brunch with friends, Broadway shows, and finding moments of calm within the busyness of New York life. She recognizes that taking the first step in therapy can feel daunting, and honors the strength it takes to ask for support. She looks forward to creating a space where clients can explore challenges, develop insight, and build skills for lasting wellness.
